Remember the time you grabbed the wrong bra and your strap kept slipping during your presentation?
Or that time you wore a ball cap to hide your unwashed hair and ran into a hot stranger that could have been your future mister?
Or met up with your girlfriends for an impromptu coffee break and they asked how last night was because you were wearing the same top as the day before?
If like me, you’ve ever rushed out of the house - in the wrong bra with yesterday's shirt and unwashed hair because you were up too late Netflix and chilling - your day can be as chaotic as you look.
No judgement, Emily. We've all been there.
When you don’t give yourself enough time to look your best in the morning, you can’t be ready for whatever the day throws at you!
Take a moment to slow down and get yourself ‘together’ before running out of your house; you'll feel happier, more confident, and ready to slay.
Who Said Adulting Was Easy?
I totally I get it -- adulting is harder than Zac Efron’s abs. And unfortunately, there’s no instruction manual for life. Who wants an instruction manual anyhow?! 🌬 Throw caution to the wind and learn as you go. It's more fun anyway.
One thing I've learned while working full-time and side-hustling my jewelry business, is to look like I’ve got my ish together.
Fake it till you make it. -- someone at some point
Between juggling work, having a social life, and spending as much time with Moose as I can, I don’t always have the time or energy to get zhooshed up.
Reset Your Routine
Your calendar might be full of mundane events - like running to the grocery store because you ran out of wine - but some days require you to look like the grown ass woman you are.
I’m not saying dress for the Grammy’s every day, just don’t be in your jammies.
I recently made one change that's so simple, I'm not sure why I waited almost 37 years to try it.
My alarm was set for 5 a.m., but I religiously snoozed it until 5:30 a.m. Those 30 snoozed minutes were torture; I could never fully fall back asleep and by the time I did get out of bed, I was exhausted.
So I made a pact with myself. I said to myself, "Kate, I will let you sleep till 5:30 a.m. but you MUST get out of bed at 5:30 a.m. No more snoozing!"
And just like that, I stopped snoozing and now roll out of bed at 5:30 a.m. And I feel so much better with my extra 30 minutes of sleep.
Who knew? Probably everyone.
When you make the time to look is clean, fresh, and complete -- in the most basic of ways -- I’m my best self. I can take on whatever the world throws at me! The carpool lane, for example.
My Wardrobe Staple
With a good nights rest, it's easier to get myself out of the door on time. The last step in my morning routine is putting on a pair of studs.
I consider stud earrings my go-to wardrobe staple. They’re the black blazers of jewelry: classic, sophisticated, and low fuss. When you put in a pair of stud earrings, your outfit, whether yoga pants or a Draper James dress, looks polished.
In fact, jewelry is a quick, easy way to enhance your natural beauty, compliment your outfit, and boost your confidence. When your confidence soars, you’re more likely to engage with people around you. Seriously, research says a lot about this. #science
Stud earrings are so versatile, you don’t have to worry if the shape or color matches your outfit. In fact, take a look at the list below to find a pair to suit the occasion.
For an impromptu brunch with your gal pals: Lavender and Mellow Yellow Dangle Earrings
When you’re brunching, your lips have two purposes: sipping mimosas and gossiping -- not profusely apologizing for your yoga pants and oversized sweatshirt.
So, toss on your favorite pair of black jeans, a loose white button down, and ankle boots. Then, add these chic, large-and-in-charge double dangle earrings to make your outfit pop. Yaasss, queen.
For a high-stakes work meeting: Poppy Red Rectangle Stud Earrings
Smart, scientific people say a man attending a black-tie affair will be viewed as having more competency and a higher status than others when he wears a red bow tie. These vibrant poppy red rectangle stud earrings will give you a leg-up on the work competition too.
For a first date that goes right: Lavender Teardrop Stud Earrings
Go ahead, girl. Swipe right. These new large teardrop stud earrings will move with you when your date goes late, and you two love birds head to the salsa club (people still do that, right?).
For volunteering instead of binge-watching Netflix all weekend: Greige Skinny Oval Studs
Marie Kondo says if you spend your day in grubby clothes, you’ll begin to look like them. Of course, if you’re volunteering at an animal shelter, you may want to wear grubby clothes. But, you can still look cute! These greige skinny oval stud earrings are simple and suitable for any environment.
For when you get to work from home on a Friday: Palm Green ear crawler resin stud earrings
Even if you aren’t leaving the house, your neighbor could stop by to borrow eggs (not everyone is on the up-and-up about brownie recipes, Cheryl!). Don’t turn off the lights and hide behind the couch. Even your everyday jeans, t-shirt, and cardigan can look cute with the right jewelry. I love these ear crawler studs -- they’re fun yet comfortable.
Just remember, you don’t have to have this adulting thing figured out all the time. But, a pair of minimalist earrings, a little mascara, and a great pair of jeans can make it look like you have this adulting thing down to a science.
Any pair of Kate and Moose stud earrings will add a subtle pop of color to your outfit and complete your look. From a boozy brunch to a high stakes business meeting, you can’t go wrong with a great pair of stud earrings.
Which style of stud earrings would you wear every day? And which color is your favorite? Which one makes you pull out your wallet and throw your credit card at the computer?!
Side Note: That’s not really how it works, but the checkout process is pretty dang simple.
