If you were to poll your friends, I bet a majority would say their favorite season is fall. And for good reason!
Generally, it's cool enough to be outside for long periods of time. And fall is the season for getting lost on purpose - in a corn maze or vineyard.
However, you choose to spend the short season of fall, here are three colorful autumn transitional outfits to inspire.
You may think of lavender as more of a spring or summer color, but as the season's transition from summer to fall, choosing wardrobe items you already own is a great way to make the transition to fall.
Periwinkle can be a peculiar color because if often time can look both blue and purple. In this outfit, I've made the periwinkle a fall color by pairing it with more traditional fall colors and anchoring the outfit with a pair of dark brown Frye boots. Heading out apple or pumpkin picking is easy with a thicker sweater that will ward off the chillier weather.
Sunday brunch is everything in DC (unlimited mimosas anyone?) and looking chic is a must. A traditional fall color is orange and it comes is a shade that will work for everyone. I'm a fan of the bolder and brighter orange, but the above outfit would look just as amazing if it were in a lighter shade of orange. The blazer helps will the chill in the air if brunching outdoors and flats are the perfect shoe for walking from the subway to your brunch destination.
