A Coffee Date with Kristin of A MidWestern Mix

Posted on

A midwestern girl's guide to making life pretty - Kristin of A Midwestern Mix expertly does just that. With a focus on fashion, fitness, and lifestyle, Kristen blogs about work outs that make me feel like I'm working out right by her side and style posts that inspire me to add new pieces to my wardrobe. She received the newest neutral color of stud earrings, seafoam green, and styled them with Pantone's lesser talked about 2016 color of the year, serenity.  Head over to her blog to see how she styled the seafoam green studs.  Kristin also picked the Kate and Moose stud earrings as one of her Thursday Three, her weekly blog post about her three loves of the week - I'm so honored!

Love the neutral color seafoam green?  Buy them here.

1. What brings you joy?
Travel. My greatest memories are of family vacations with my parents & 3 sisters, my husband Kyle & I's destination wedding, and random trips with my girlfriends. I love seeing new places, revisiting memorable cities, and exploring. I'm the happiest when I step off a plane or out of a car and breathe in the air of a new destination!

2. What color makes you happy?
Yellow makes me the happiest. Something about the bright, cheery tone gives me an instant boost of energy. On a dreary day or when my mood isn't great I will run to Whole Foods and buy yellow flower bouquets--now is the best time of the year for Daffodils. They're in every room of our home at the moment!

3. Do you have a store/restaurant in your hometown that you love to visit?
My parents and youngest sister (I'm the oldest of 4 girls!) moved 1,000 miles away last May so I don't really have many ties to the town I grew up in anymore since I don't have a reason to travel back there. But Kyle's parents (and grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.) have lived in the same tiny town in Iowa for forever so I actually have 2 stops we visit every time we go there. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and I always go to the cutest coffee shop, Greene Bean Coffee, and eclectic vintage decor shop, Country Blessings, on Saturday mornings when I am in town. Those are some of my favorite Saturday mornings...trying new flavored lattes, scouring an old farm shed full of the cutest home decor pieces, and spending time with my second family that I'm so lucky to have been blessed with!
